FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about SealHire - from how the AI interview works to how candidate data is protected.

What is SealHire?

SealHire is a structured AI interview platform that records, scores, and packages each candidate interview into a shareable sealed profile — a verifiable evidence record of demonstrated ability. Recruiting agencies use it to submit candidates their clients can actually trust, and candidates keep a portable proof-of-ability credential they can share freely.

Who is SealHire for?

SealHire is built for recruiting and staffing agencies that want to give clients better evidence before the first live interview. It is also directly useful for candidates who want a verifiable interview record, and for hiring managers who want to review structured evidence rather than just a recruiter summary.

How does the AI interview work?

The recruiter defines the role, seniority, and evaluation criteria. SealHire generates a structured interview calibrated to that rubric. The candidate answers role-relevant questions asynchronously — on camera, at their own pace — while SealHire adapts follow-up questions based on their responses and the role context. Everything is recorded with a timestamped transcript.

How long does the interview take?

The recruiter chooses the format: a Quick Screen is about 15 minutes, a Standard Interview about 30 minutes, and a Deep Interview about 45 minutes. The candidate invite shows the selected duration, and there is no live scheduler to coordinate.

How does scoring and evidence work?

Every score is tied to quote-level evidence from the transcript — specific answers mapped to specific role criteria. Hiring teams see the score, the rationale, and the exact excerpt that drove it. Nothing is presented without a receipt.

What integrity checks does SealHire use?

SealHire captures contextual signals including tab-switch and window-focus events, camera presence throughout the session, and consent-led recording acknowledgment. These signals are surfaced alongside the transcript so hiring teams have integrity context without SealHire making automated pass/fail decisions based on them. There is no biometric analysis, face matching, or deepfake detection.

Is SealHire free for candidates?

Taking an interview is always free — a candidate is never charged to interview. You receive your full transcript, and your sealed profile is yours to keep, share with any hiring manager, or add to your resume at no cost. The employer pays for the interview, never the candidate.

What is a sealed profile?

A sealed profile is the packaged interview record: video, timestamped transcript, evidence-cited scores against the role rubric, and integrity context. It can be shared via link with any hiring manager — no account required to review it. It is designed to be inspectable rather than simply trusted.

Can a hiring manager review a sealed profile without creating an account?

Yes. Agencies can share a work-email-gated profile link so hiring managers can review the evidence record without creating a full SealHire workspace. Share access expires and can be revoked.

How is candidate data protected?

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256. Recording is consent-led: candidates are clearly informed what is recorded and how it is used before the interview begins. Formal certifications (SOC 2, GDPR) are in progress.

Does SealHire replace recruiters?

No. SealHire gives recruiting teams better evidence so humans can make faster, fairer, more confident decisions. The AI surfaces signals and structures evidence — people decide. Every score and recommendation is reviewed by a human before it reaches a client.

How does pricing work?

Candidates are never charged to interview, and hiring managers are always free. Employers and recruiting agencies buy interview credits on tiered plans: a $99 one-time Pilot to start, then Starter at $299/month, Growth at $749/month, and Business at $1,599/month. One credit covers up to 15 minutes of AI interviewing (a 30-minute Standard Interview is 2 credits), and unused credits never expire. See full plan details at /#pricing.

What languages are supported?

Interviews are currently conducted in English. Support for additional languages is in progress.
